The New Amsterdam Cafe has a number of partnerships with gifted glass blowers throughout the world. These guys don't just bang out your everyday "run-of-the-mill" pipes, they produce art. The time and thought that go into each of their projects is evident in the quality of build and cleanliness of design.
One of our favorite glass blowers is Kory Cotnam. His style and attention to detail never fails to impress. So when he dropped this bad boy off I knew I needed to fire up the ole Canon and drop some pictures for you guys.

I'm not sure if he entitled this piece or if he entitles any of his pieces but for now I'm just going to call this baby "The Chopper". The pictures of this one-of-kind original pretty much speak for themselves.

There are two things about this pipe that really stand out for me . The first is use of clear glass for the "shocks" attaching the front wheel, as well as the flares whose flame like shape fire out above the back tire from the back fender

The second is the cleverness of the design. To look at it standing alone you wouldn't know its a pipe at all. It isnt until you flip it over is the truth revealed. Contained in the belly of the gas tank is a hidden bowl and located beneath the front wheel is the "carb". Bottom line this one tight pipe.

Next time your in the Cafe ask one of the boys to show you some more of Korey's pieces. We have another couple of pieces currently at the Cafe  but they don't last normally last to long.

What do you think of "The Chopper"?
